The culture of Haryana is very vibrant and colourful. Fatehabad has carved out a place in history due to the evidence found around the town suggesting an association with Pre-Harappan civilization. Banawali and Kunal are Pre-Harappan sites and are in close proximity to the town of Fatehabad.
At Banawali, the archaeological excavation has revealed ploughed fields and a well-constructed fort town of the Harappan period overlying an extensive proto-urban settlement of Pre-Harappan culture.
At Kunal, two silver crowns presumably worn by the king and queen along with gold and silver jewellery have been found in an earthen jar. This is the first time that a regal crown has been found in the subcontinent. The evidences have brought to light the Harappan connection with Fatehabad.
Keeping the historical importance in mind, the Haryana Government has decided to develop Fatehabad district as a tourist destination. The complete city is proposed to be painted in pink colour, which will enhance the beauty and splendour of the city and make it the second pink city in India after Jaipur. The new amendment made by the Haryana Government will create an inflow of tourists in this unexplored city of history and culture.
The new agricultural hub of the region will be on the outskirts of Fatehabad, thereby, increasing its business prospects manifold. The proposed new Grain Mandi of Fatehabad will be situated at the Hissar crossing, in close vicinity of Alpha International City, Fatehabad.
